Our Services
At Universal Alternatives we offer a full spectrum of addiction treatment services to help you or your loved one overcome the challenges caused by substance use disorders.

Drug & Alcohol Evaluation

The initial step to accessing treatment and recovery starts with an Assessment by a Substance Use Disorder Professional. Substance use disorders are a disease like any other medical condition affecting brain function and everyday behavior. It leads to a dependence on drugs, alcohol or medications; if addicted, the individual continues to use the drug even if it’s harming them. Every drug is different, so there’s no single way to determine if someone will develop an addiction. There are a few reasons clinicians perform an assessment. Mainly, it’s to determine if an individual meets the criteria for a substance use disorder diagnosis and, if so, how severe the disorder is at that time.
Outpatient Treatment

An intensive outpatient program can be the first line of treatment for a moderate or severe substance use disorder, a step up from a less structured outpatient program when needed, or a step down from a residential program after a certain amount of progress is made. This helps to form a seamless continuum of care. Our Intensive Outpatient Program includes a minimum of (3) 2-hour group therapy sessions per week for the initial 90 days of treatment accompanied by a 60 minute individual therapy session at a minimum of once per month.
Our Outpatient Programs are fully customizable to meet your treatment needs. We offer a variety of in person and virtual groups to meet anyone's scheduling needs.
Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a treatment intervention based on one-on-one conversations with a trained and certified substance use disorder professional . Though distinct treatment modalities, individual counseling can assist to facilitate deep intrapersonal and interpersonal work. Through individual counseling a treatment plan will be created and you or your loved one will work closely with the counselor to help you achieve your recovery goals and find healing.
Alcohol & Drug Information School

An alcohol and drug informational school (ADIS) is a good place for people of all ages to get information on alcohol and drug abuse and gain awareness on how often alcohol and drug use leads to making poor choices. People who get referred to attend an ADIS class generally have already been seen by a substance use professional and diagnosed as not having an active or current substance use disorder. The professionals at ADIS believe that an education will help students make more responsible choices. An alcohol and drug informational school’s course is generally eight hours in length, and can be done in different settings.
